🔥 Harissa Shrimp Orzo

This dish is giving: effortless weeknight glam with a side of bold, smoky heat. We’re talking juicy shrimp, sweet cherry tomatoes, and silky orzo, all tied together with a generous spoonful of our Moroccan Harissa Powder. Not the paste. Not a knockoff. This is the real-deal blend, sourced directly from Morocco and packed with attitude.

What You’ll Need:

8 oz orzo

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 tbsp International Spice District Harissa Powder

1.5 tbsp olive oil (plus a splash more for the pan)

Juice of ½ lemon

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

Salt & pepper to taste

Fresh herbs (parsley or cilantro)

Optional: feta crumbles for that creamy, salty finish

Let’s Make Magic:

1. Boil your orzo in salted water until al dente. Drain, set aside, and try not to snack on it.

2. In a bowl, coat the shrimp with 1 tbsp harissa powder, 1.5 tbsp olive oil, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Let it marinate while you heat your pan.

3. Sauté garlic and tomatoes in a bit of olive oil until soft and juicy.

4. Add the shrimp and cook until pink just 2–3 minutes per side.

5. Toss in the orzo and stir it all together until coated and glowing.

6. Taste, season, and finish with fresh herbs and crumbled feta if you're feelin’ fancy.

✨ Spice Spotlight: Harissa Powder

Forget the paste. Our Harissa Powder gives you the flavor flexibility your pantry deserves. Mix it with olive oil and lemon juice and boom! You’ve got a bold, North African-style marinade in seconds.

Did You Know?

Harissa originated in Tunisia and quickly spread across North Africa and the Mediterranean. Traditionally made with dried chili peppers, garlic, cumin, and coriander, it’s a staple in tagines, grilled meats, and even breakfast eggs. Our version is freshly ground in small batches with zero preservatives ,so no two scoops are ever exactly the same.

Serving Suggestion:

Serve in a wide shallow bowl, top with herbs and a lemon wedge, and snap that pic. You earned it!
